I had a fantastic stay at a charming hostel near Zenkoji temple. the owner, Nao, was incredibly helpful and even treated us to a delicious dinner and sake at his sake bar. the dormitory room was comfortable and provided enough privacy with the curtains. the location was ideal, just a short walk away from the main attractions of Nagano. the hostel had a nice lounge area and a well-equipped kitchen, making it convenient. I highly recommend this hostel for a great stay in Nagano. Cons: Nothing to complain about, everything was perfect! 😊.

My partner and I recently stayed at Dot Hostel for a few nights. The hostel has a cool and charming atmosphere, and we were pleasantly surprised to be given a more private space instead of the dorm we had booked. The location is fantastic, just a short walk from Zenko-ji Temple and supermarkets. The staff were friendly and provided us with a helpful map of nearby attractions. The rooms and beds were clean, and the curtains on each bed added a nice touch of privacy. Additionally, the complimentary toast, coffee, and tea in the morning were a thoughtful gesture.
100% Recommend this hotel.

We absolutely loved our stay at Dot Hostel. The traditional house had such interesting architecture and the decorations made it feel like a cozy home away from home. The beds were comfortable and the room was warm, even in the cold Nagano weather. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that breakfast was included, and it was a delicious start to our day. The staff was helpful and the location, being close to Zenkoji temple, was perfect for exploring. we highly recommend this hotel for a unique and enjoyable stay.

The hostel was located within walking distance of a famous temple and several restaurants, making it convenient for exploring the area. The free toast provided in the morning was a nice addition, allowing guests to have a quick and easy breakfast.- The staff at the hostel were friendly and spoke English well, making communication easier for international guests.
The rooms were poorly sound-proofed, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep when there were noisy guests in the neighboring rooms. There was only one shared toilet, shower room, and sink, which meant having to wait for a turn if the hostel was busy.

The value for money was great, and the room was cozy and comfortable. The location was convenient for visiting tourist sites, and the staff treated me with kindness and helpfulness throughout my stay.
The only thing that could have made the breakfast better was to offer a wider variety of options on the menu.

Amazing stay! Loved the cozy communal spaces and meeting new people. the female room was warm and comfortable, perfect for the cold weather. the owner was friendly and helped us plan our trip with great recommendations. the location was convenient, close to attractions and restaurants.
Disliked the older house that could get a little cold in some areas, but the room heaters and common area made up for it. it could get noisy as you could hear conversations everywhere in the house.
